I just wanna share this article on positive mental attitude, this came from one of the various seminars I attended some years ago. Hope you may find it useful and serve as a guide to everyday life.

Last week was my mom's birthday, she's 52. I bought a simple mobile phone as a gift, I guess she's pleased with it. I'm also planning to buy a new mobile phone, probably February, to replace my three-year old Nokia 3100. I want a smartphone, running on S60 Platform, still Nokia of course, have a decent camera and multimedia capabilities. My current pick is Nokia E50, because of its form factor, simplicity, features and the price, which is relatively cheaper than most smartphones.
On Thursday I'll start my engineering practicum, also known as on-the-job training (OJT), in Philippine Long Distance Telephone (PLDT) Company, Las Piñas Office. I'm required to complete 120 hours of training, my sked is twice per week, eight hours per day. I hope I can finish early and pass all the requirements on time.
It's already been two months since my CRT monitor started to become reddish, though it displays quite differently I found myself getting used to it now. Just sharing. Wanted: need new monitor (or a Windows Vista-ready PC, hehe.)

It's American Idol season once again, missed the Minneapolis episode but I've seen the Seattle auditions. The other day I tried to design an Idol logo "with a personal touch." I used Corel Paint Shop Pro XI. What do you think?
Been occupied recently, mostly from school and other chores. It's difficult when you've been given responsibility, and expectations are high. Sometimes it's better to let things go with the flow instead of worrying about them. Have you experienced giving chance to others, but never had the chance itself? I wish that when the right time has come, everything will be clear.
Watched last night the final show of the 2nd World Pyro Olympics at The Esplanade, SM Mall of Asia. I'm with my parents, my little sis, and my Tito Marlon. China and host country Philippines gave a very spectacular fireworks display. Thousands of Filipino pyromaniacs and tourists alike converged and kept on cheering with so much awe and excitement! I wasn't able to take some pictures of the event as my eyes were totally glued on the sky watching every bit. My Tito used his cameraphone to capture some videos though. Out with the fun comes the trash and heavy traffic it caused for many, but I guess it was all worth it. Westcoast Fireworks Ltd. of the United Kingdom was announced the winner of the annual international competition.

I just enrolled for my last trimester in college, with only five subjects remaining (fourteen units of academic merit), nearing to completion of my computer engineering course. I'm preparing for my engineering practicum (more popularly known as "On-the-Job Training.") I suddenly realized that after all these years I was learning and studying uninterruptedly for around 18 years, and now in few months time I'll be graduating soon. I started attending school since I was three years old, in a small preparatory. Followed by six years in primary school, four years in secondary. I had my vocational degree for two years, and finally my bachelor's degree for four years. Learning is a fun and one-of-a-kind experience to me. This is what made me the person I am now. I'll never stop learning and continue to seek for knowledge in every aspect of life.
American Idol Season 6 premieres next week. I must say that the local version of Idol didn't have that much hype than its more popular American counterpart. Some Season 5 contestants are starting to make their own music, which includes Idol winner Taylor Hicks, Chris Daughtry (his band's album Daughtry went platinum) and Katharine McPhee (to release her self-titled album this year.)
As tagged to me by fellow tBlogger inkspector, here are some of the facts you may not know 'bout me.
I'm left-handed.
I'm an avid coin and banknote collector! I started collecting in 1999 when my aunt gave me a starter set of different coins from various countries. The collection mostly comprises of Philippine pesos (old and new) and other foreign currencies. My oldest coin is an Australian penny that dates way back 1940.
When I was a little child, around a year old or two, I used to sing "Somewhere Out There" by Linda Ronstadt and James Ingram. I always had this big microphone over the karaoke and sing this song over and over again my parents were somewhat pleased to see me "perform." Now every time I'm hearing the song there's a nostalgic feeling in me.
You may be wondering where my name "Jose Paris" came from? Well, actually it was supposed to be my father's real name. But for some reason my lola (grandmother) changed it to just "Jose." When my mum and dad got married and have their first child (which is me btw) they named him "Jose Paris." My parents had this "love" for geographical locations. I was named from Paris, the "City of the Light" (la Ville Lumière.) My younger brother's name is "Jose Irish" (from Republic of Ireland) and my younger sister "Maria Victoria" (after Victorias City, Negros Occidental, my father's birthplace.)
I joined many competitions in the past, from quiz bees to impromptu speeches, but there's one contest I won't ever forget. I joined "Mr. and Ms. United Nations" school program when I was wee six years old, representing Spain. I didn't win, but my experience was truly unforgettable.
