Last Friday I went to Subic Bay Freeport for my three-day major field trip. It's my first time to visit the city and my experience was totally awesome! Subic Bay Freeport Zone (SBFZ) is located in southwest Luzon island, about 110 kilometers north of Manila. From a former American naval base, it is now an important industrial and metropolitan area in the Philippines. Subic is a popular tourist destination, famous for its beaches, animal wildlife attractions, and duty free shopping centers.
Day 1 (Fri 04.20): Manila departure time was 6 o'clock in the morning, traveled by bus. Arrived in Subic around 10AM. Checked in at Subic International Hotel, Room 309 together with four roommates. Ate some cake for merienda (midday snack), and daily meals were served from Wimpy's Food Plaza. Had night swimming by the pool with friends. Participated in some sort of "leadership" activity. Laugh trips, chit chat and kulitan, haha!
Day 2 (Sat 04.21): Woke up early. With the help of a quirky tour guide, we explored different places in Subic. We started by visiting Subic Bay International Terminal Corporation (SBITC) and learned about their port operations. We pass through interesting sites, Waterfront Boardwalk, Pamulaklakin Forest Trails, Subic Yacht Club, Malawaan Pier, Triboa Bay, nearby beaches (particularly Camayan Beach Resort), and wildlife parks among others. I was able to record some videos during the tour. It was tiring but I enjoyed a lot.
Day 3 (Sun 04.22): Bought some foodstuff at Royal Duty Free, Subic's largest shopping center. Buffet lunch at the hotel before checking out. Left Subic past twelve noon, and back to Manila by 3PM.
Thursday.04/12.It was Alphine's birthday! I, together with some of our classmates, went to her place and had "inuman", it was a night full of fun and laughter. I'm not that a drinker, but during that time I was! I lost count on my number of shots, and I feel subconscious. I had allergic reactions to alcohol, lasted for couple of days. Now that I'm OK, it's better to avoid 'em at the moment.
Friday-Saturday.04/13-14. I was in school to check for updates on graduation. Final date: May 7th. Venue: Philippine International Convention Center, Pasay City. There was a job fair for graduating students, and I attended a career seminar on job hunting. Rest up a bit.
Sunday-Monday.04/15-16. This year's summer is surely one of the hottest ever recorded, temperature's at 35 degrees Celcius. I was listening to Avril Lavigne's The Best Damn Thing most of the time. How do you find my new blog header? I also changed some colors, minor edits to follow.
Tuesday.04/17. Had a haircut, bought some casual clothes, and added extra memory on my mobile phone through 1GB Kingston microSD from Cd-r King. Tomorrow I'll be attending another job fair.
I'm off to Subic! Come Friday is my three-day field trip to Subic Bay Freeport. I'm so excited and it'll be my first time to go there. My last major trip outside the metro was in Baguio City, in 2003. I'll try to post some pics and share some stories with you after the said trip.
After three years Avril Lavigne is back with her third studio album The Best Damn Thing. She describes it as "fast, fun, young, bratty, aggressive, confident, cocky in a playful way..." Her musical style has changed, the tracks range from upbeat teeny rock to some beautiful mellow ballads. If you're a fan of Avril (like me), this album is a must have. The latest single "Girlfriend" is currently charting Top 10 across different countries and the chorus was recorded in several languages.
My favorite tracks: "Girlfriend", "The Best Damn Thing", "When You're Gone""Hot" and "Innocence"
I stumbled on The Free Dictionary website and I was fascinated by their free content tools for webmasters. You can add them on your personal site and choose your own favorite. I like the Spelling Bee and Match Up. I remembered back in the days when I was in elementary school answering spelling quizzes in English class. I guess I'm still good at it, hehe.
During the Holy Week I was reading the Bible, listened to stories of life, sacrifices and God's passion, trying to reflect on my own.
Aside from that, I was into "Web 2.0" also. I started using del.icio.us, saving all my frequently used bookmarks. I signed up for different services like Imeem (made my own playlist) and Multiply (still under construction, probably become my tBlog alternative.) I set Netvibes as my default home page, adding my favorite content and RSS feeds.
Ever heard of The T-shirt Project? I saw one of their ads in a magazine and I like their unique concept of customized shirts, it shows expression and personality. I'll try to buy one, hehe.

Lenten Break - A week-long Lenten vacation ahead, school's almost over and I'll be graduating next month. Time flies. What to do? I believe it's OK to relax once in a while, then think of ways on how to become more productive. How about a little housekeeping? Or read a good book? Maybe I should start with my cluttered desktop. Also I'm planning to edit my blog here, replacing some of its features and add photos. Sometimes I just feel a tad lazy.
Food - Yesterday I indulge myself to Go Nuts Donuts, box of half-dozen. I can't help my cravings. Previously I'm eating assorted stuff, from crackers and lasagna to apple tea and barbecue. Looks like I'm starting to gain a little weight. I have to do some sit-ups now, hehe.
